Farewell to thee

Living life away gives the illusion that it is everlasting. Only when someone close to you slips away, does the reality that life is temporary sink in albeit painfully. At moments such as those, we ponder on the meaning of life, about how just when you have it all; it slips through your hands.

The pain inside you at the loss of your friend or relative is indescribable but not as much as the questions whose answers you don’t have. Why did was he chosen, you ask? Why did it have to be now? You wonder? In your grief you moan helplessly as the only thing that matters now is the memory of your loved one.
The remorse about all the moments you could have had but didn’t because you made plans that never came to pass or both you and the decease were busy at that time and hoped to meet later.

Only that later was not to be, but how were both of you supposed to know? This fact echo’s the heartbreaking uncertain nature of death.
Death whether it’s anticipated or abrupt is one of those inconsolable things we have to live with. Thinking about the Late Hon.Owony Ojwok bogs my mind with all these things.Like the Christians preach, death should be celebration of the deceased life.

While the pain digs deep in my heart I cannot help marvel at the rich life he had.
His wealth of experience and kind nature flash in my mind right from my childhood to date. I recall his jolly nature as he often teased me about culture and encouraged me to be an achiever in all aspects.

In him many of us not only lost a relative but a mentor, a friend, a pillar and man of great statue who touched our lives at different points in time. We may have lost the man but the impact he made in our lives will forever speak for itself.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
